Why do we need Virtual Private Networks (VPN's)

VPN's create a tunnel for you to access the Internet through that hackers and other interested agencies can’t see into. This is important, because they are looking.

Hackers use a man-in-the-middle (MITM) internet inspection tool to see your information and nearly every government in the world has implemented sophisticated Internet and email inspection technology, including the United States. Narus, the largest producer of this technology in the world, sells “Internet Inspection technology” for $500,000 to $1 million – relatively inexpensive for a large organization to purchase - and the devices are placed inside the countries Internet Service Providers (ISP's).

Narus Internet inspection technology scans every email, email attachment, and web site you visit, looking for red flag words or pictures that match its filter. The U.S. government is looking for terrorists, while other governments are looking for “dissension” or “dangerous thinking.” If a filter match is made, your account information (login username, email username, IP address, time, Internet service provider name, etc) and the red flagged content is automatically sent to the authorities for review by human intelligence.

VPN's encrypt your Internet traffic (emails, web browsing, etc.) so that internet inspection tools can’t access your information.
